Interior |
Until we get ourselves a proper workshop
we will start renovate from the "wrong" end and start with the
interior. We also know now that some of our sheet metal is really crappy
and need to be completely replaced. Mainly the floor and the firewall.
This will take a long time for us to complete so it's nice to fix some
small things first. Since we are very busy men, only a couple of hours
have been spent in the garage the past two weeks. We have started with
the passenger seat, the rear seat, the air filter cap, the horn and some
other stuff. The air filter will be switched with a brand new in chrome
later so therefore we only painted it for now.
New belt for the power-assisted steering is mounted so it's easier to
turn with the car now. Also a new belt for the generator. |

Transport home
Interior / exterior inspection |
The car is now in our possession after being transported
home from the previous owner on a trailer. Sadly we have discovered that
there are even more rust than we expected. but hey, it's supposed to be
a project car.
We have removed most of the interior to see how much rust there is beneath
all the carpets and so on. Of course there are a lot but most of the sheet
metal will we actually be able to fix even if it looks really bad now.
Things that can't be saved will either be constructed from scratch, ordered
new from the US or be replaced with better second hand parts.

The Mustang gets a closer inspection in our temporary
garage.
